What are Cookies and why do I need them?
These allow a website to temporarily store a few bytes of information in a special folder (dedicated by Windows for this purpose) on your computer.
Many shops, and some payment processing websites need this in order to handle and process the content of your shopping basket / the list of products you are about to pay for.
How can I enable Cookies?
In Internet Explorer, goto Menu 'Extras' and click on 'Internet Options'. This will bring up a dialog box. There, select the register card 'Privacy'. There, move the elevator control element downwards until it displays something like, 'Accept All Cookies From Everybody'.
Is there a risk?
Basically, no. Some websites use Cookies to track their visitors, or to recognize returning visitors. So the issue with Cookies is about privacy.
But there are no security issues whatsoever, since it is impossible to do anything malicious to your computer with Cookies.
When I've completed my order, how can I de-active Cookies again?
Like described above, go to 'Extras' / 'Internet Options' / 'Privacy', and return the elevator control element to the position it previously had.
Most Cookies will usually be deleted automatically after a few days. But you can also immmediately remove all Cookies from your system by going to the register card 'General' and clicking on the button 'Delete Cookies'.
To return to the Order Page,
you can simply close this window.
